Refractory Plastic Mix

Refractory plastic mix is semi-hard refractory material with certain degree of plasticity, usually made into mud shape. The main application of refractory plastic mix is refractory lining patching. The deformation index of plastic mix is usually between 15%~40%. During application, plastic mix will have plastic deformation and won’t crack or strip. The composition of plastic refractory is similar to other monolithic refractory, it is composed of refractory aggregate and powder, binder and plasticizer. The categories of plastic refractory is classified by binders and main raw materials. By binders types, plastic mix is divided into clay bonded plastic mix, phosphate acid bonded plastic mix, aluminum phosphate bonded plastic mix, tar-pitch or resin bonded plastic mix, etc. By main raw material types, plastic mix is divided into silica plastic mix, fireclay plastic mix, high alumina plastic mix, corundum plastic mix, zircon plastic mix, carbon/silicon carbide plastic mix, magnesia plastic mix, magnesia chrome plastic mix, etc. The most often used refractory plastic mix is aluminum silicate plastic mix.

Clay bonded plastic mix adopts plastic clay as binder, chamotte or high alumina clinker as main raw material. Clay bonded plastic mix has good thermal shock resistance and stripping resistance. fireclay bonded plastic refractory is mainly used for heating furnace roof and furnace wall linings ,as well as heating furnace working linings.

Phosphate Acid Bonded Plastic Mix

Phosphate acid bonded plastic mix is made from chamotte, high alumina clinker or corundum aggregate, phosphate acid or acidic aluminum phosphate binder, plastic clay and conservant. Phosphate acid bonded plastic mix has high middle-high temperature binding strength, good wear resistance and thermal shock resistance.

Phosphate acid bonded plastic mix or aluminum phosphate bonded plastic mix is widely used in industrial kilns & furnaces of metallurgy, petrochemical industry, power plant, machinery, usually serves as thermal shock resistant, washing resistant and wear resistant refractory linings, such as heating furnace burner nozzle, rotary cement kiln discharge end, shaft kiln charging end, high temperature cyclone separator working lining, etc.
