Semi-Rebonded Magnesia Chrome Brick

Semi-rebonded magnesia chrome brick is the kind of magnesite chromite brick, its raw materials are certain ratio of fused magnesite-chrome clinker and certain ratio of sintered magnesite and chromite. If only fused magnesite-chrome clinker is used as raw material, it is called re-bonded magnesia chrome brick. Rebonded and semi-rebonded magnesia chrome bricks have higher direct bonding rate than direct bonded magnesia chrome brick.
 
Semi rebonded magnesia chrome bricks will have better slag corrosion resistance and high temperature performance if Cr2O3 content of fused magnesia chrome is higher. When higher thermal shock resistance is required, the ratio of coarse grains should be increased, but the strength and slag corrosion resistance will decrease.

Semi Rebonded Magnesia Chrome Bricks Properties

Semi rebonded magnesia chrome brick has higher purity and lower impurity (SiO2, CaO, Fe2O3) content.

Semi-rebonded magnesite chrome bricks has lower apparent porosity, low air permeation, high bulk density.

Semi rebonded magnesite chromite brick has good volume stability, micro structure mineral phase characteristic is the direct contact of periclase, periclase solid solution and chrome spinel solid solution.  

Excellent slag corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance.

Semi-Rebonded Magnesia Chrome Brick Production Characteristics

Raw material

Synthesized magnesite chrome clinker is the raw material for rebonded and semi rebonded magnesia chrome brick production. There are two methods for synthesizing magnesite chrome clinker: sintering method and fused method. Fused method has the advantage of simple craft, high melting temperature, adequate reaction degree, low porosity, high density, etc, so it is widely used. To obtain high purity fused magnesia chrome clinker, some ratio of Cr2O3 can be added into the raw material.

Burdening

One kind of fused magnesite chrome clinker or two kind of fused magnesia chrome clinkers can be mixed to make semi-rebonded magnesia chrome brick. High Cr2O3 content is beneficial to the direct bonding degree and the quantity of secondary spinel, so the slag resistance and high temperature performance of magnesia chrome brick are enhanced.

To obtain higher thermal shock resistance, coarse grains proportion can be increased for making rebonded magnesia chrome bricks, or some ratio of calcined magnesia or chrome can be added.

Semi Rebonded Magnesia Chrome Bricks Applications

Semi rebonded magnesia chrome bricks are widely used in parts of metallurgical furnaces where corrosion is severest, such as out furnace refinery equipment, AOD furnace tuyere, RH furnace vacuum chamber lower part groove and dipping pipe, VOD furnace slag line, heavy nonferrous metals converters tuyere zone, flash furnace reaction tower, settling pond, anode furnace slag line, isa furnace slag line, basic refractory material kiln high temperature zone, etc.
