Fused Re-Bonded Magnesite Chrome Brick

Fused magnesite chrome clinker made magnesia chrome brick is called fused rebonded magnesite chrome brick. Electric arc furnace is usually used to synthesize fused magnesite chrome clinker. The mineral composition of fused magnesite chrome clinker is: periclase solid solution, chrome spinel solid solution, forsterite.

When producing magnesite chrome brick, one kind of two kinds of fused magnesite chrome clinker can be used as raw material. The higher Cr2O3 content, the better the slag corrosion resistance and high temperature performance of fused rebonded magnesite chrome brick.

Fused rebonded magnesite chrome should be sintered at temperature as high as possible, because its density, high temperature strength and secondary spinel quantity are all related with the sintering temperature. For fused rebonded magnesia chrome bricks containing more than 20% of Cr2O3, the sintering temperature should better between 1800~1850℃. Prolonging high temperature zone holding time, keeping relatively lower cooling speed, and maintaining oxidizing atmosphere can contribute to the growth of crystalline grains, thus secondary spinel quantity will increase, thermal stability is improved, high temperature modulus of rupture is increased and other physical performances are also enhanced.

Fused Cast Magnesia Chrome Brick

Fused cast magnesia chrome bricks have better high temperature strength, mechanical performance, abrasion resistance, slag corrosion resistance than chemical bonded magnesia chrome bricks and sintered magnesia chrome bricks. But fused cast basic refractory bricks have the advantages of poor thermal stability, expensive price and high energy consumption. Fused cast magnesia chrome bricks are usually used at places where slag corrosion, abrasion, and scouring are severe. When used in continuous working furnaces, the effect will be better. Reaction tower side wall and settling pond slag line of nonferrous metal smelting flash furnaces are places where fused cast magnesia chrome bricks are mostly used.

Fused Rebonded Magnesite Chrome Bricks Applications

Fused rebonded magnesite chrome bricks are usually used at parts where slag erosion, corrosion, abrasion and washing are severe. It has excellent using effect at continuous working furnaces. Fused rebonded magnesite chrome bricks are widely used in nonferrous metals flash smelting furnace, such as copper, lead, tin, smelting furnace tuyere zone, nickel  reaction tower sidewall and sediment bath slag line part. The other important application is steel industry, for example, secondary refining equipment AOD furnace tuyere zone, RH furnace vacuum chamber lower part groove and immersion tube, VOD furnace slag line.
