Mullite poly-light insulating brick is a kind of lightweight insulating brick, it is also called mullite insulating brick. It has good thermal insulation effect, low bulk density and so on. RS kiln refractory adopts special grade mullite(3Al2O3·2SiO2) and poly-light ball as raw material, and customizes production according to customers’ actual using requirement. The working temperature of mullite poly-light brick can reach to 1350~1700℃, it can contact with flame directly, its alumina content is usually between 65%~75%. Except mullite, little amount of glass phase and cristobalite also appears in the mullite polylight bricks which have lower alumina content, for those with higher alumina content, little amount of corundum phase also appears.
Mullite light bricks are classified into many grades according to using temperature. Mullite light bricks have characteristics: high purity, low impurity content, high temperature resistant, can directly contact with flame, different atmosphere corrosion resistant, low thermal conductivity, low specific thermal capacity, high strength, excellent thermal shock resistance, accurate size, arbitrary cutting and so on. Mullite lightweight bricks are usually used as working lining or back ling of other refractory material.
Low thermal conductivity, has excellent heat insulating effect, can make the furnace wall thinner.
Low thermal capacity: due to its lightweight and low thermal conductivity, lightweight mullite bricks regenerate small heat energy, so energy saving effect is very significant for non-continuous operation kilns.
Low impurity content: has very low iron and alkali metal low melting point materials content, therefore the refractoriness is high. High alumina content makes it have good performance at reduced atmosphere.
Mullite light insulating brick can directly contact with flame, it has these advantages: high temperature proof, lightweight, low thermal conductivity, significant energy saving effect.
Mullite Lightweight Insulating Brick Application
It is widely used as working lining refractory of cracking furnace, hot blast furnace, ceramics roller kiln, electric porcelain drawer kiln, glass crucible and various kinds of electric furnaces. The raw refractory material of mullite light insulating brick is natural high alumina low iron material, the primary mineral phase is mullite. Mullite light bricks have high crushing strength, good thermal stability, low thermal conductivity, strong permeation resistance, good scouring resistance and so on. Lightweight mullite bricks are widely used in metallurgy, petrochemical industry, machinery, ceramics and so on. Mullite lightweight bricks can not only be used as insulating lining material, but also can be used as working lining of industrial furnaces and kilns, it is a kind of long service life and energy saving refractory products. According to customers’ requirement, wood powder or small polystyrene balls can be added into raw material to produce poly lightweight mullite insulating brick.
