Power Plant Cooling Towers Using Spreading Materials

Is It Possible to Use Spreading Materials for Power Plant Cooling Towers?

Power plant cooling towers are important facilities for industrial circulating water cooling in power plants. Lining uses spreading material, but it must be anti-corrosive spreading material.

Due to the circulating use of cooling water, the corrosion of the cooling tower will damage the coating material. The anti-corrosion and waterproof coating refractory material of the cooling tower is non-toxic and odorless. It can be applied on a wet base surface with good film formation and dense conjunctiva.

If the anti-corrosion coating refractory material is not resistant to water erosion, the inner wall anti-corrosion waterproof coating peels off or falls off, the coating will fall off prematurely, and the water barrier effect is very important, so the binder of the coating material must be combined with special cement.

When the rising speed of the refractory concrete pouring layer is low and the temperature is high, the concrete surface dries quickly, and the concrete surface has enough time to dry before the construction of the coating material. In this case, the construction of the coating material has a better effect. The construction temperature is high, the strength of the concrete is also high, and the tower body wall is thick, so it is easy to construct. In contrast, the surface of the coating material in this area will basically not fall off.

The spreading refractory material in the throat rises fast and the temperature is the lowest in the whole tower construction. The short interval time and low ambient temperature are detrimental to the early strength drying of the paint. And the wall thickness of the throat tower body is also the thinnest area on the tower body, which causes the water content of the coating material in this area to increase and the strength to decrease.

The strength of the refractory concrete in the lower part of the spreading material also has a great influence on the adhesion of the spreading material. The higher the strength of the refractory concrete, the more sufficient the hydration of the cement in the concrete. The easier the surface of the concrete dries, the greater the adhesion of the spreader to the surface of the refractory concrete.

The spreading refractory material is easy to destroy the construction period of the area where the wall thickness is thin, the rising speed is fast, and the temperature is low. Basically, the coating material is used for a period of time at low temperature, and it is basically no longer available. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the cement used for the bonding agent in the cooling tower must have waterproof function.
